Fixed-price services cost just what they cost, rather than an hourly rate.

Operating System Replacement
(Windows 10 users)

$180

If your computer cannot upgrade to Windows 11, don't throw it out and replace it just yet! Instead of spending $500 or more on a new machine, breathe life into your old hardware with a free and secure operating system called Linux!

Service includes:

  • Backup of personal documents and bookmarks to a temporary drive

  • Replacement of Windows 10 with Linux Mint

  • Restoration of documents and bookmarks

  • Connection and testing of accessories like printers

  • Configuration of daily system backups

  • Configuration of nightly anti-malware scans (although you probably don't need it)

  • Solid State Drive (see glossary)

    • Replaces Older (slower) hard disk drive

      • 128GB - $35

      • 256GB - $55

      • 512GB - $85

  •  Additional RAM (see glossary)

    • Helps your computer 'think' more quickly

      •  Prices vary (especially now) but RAM for older computers is more affordable

      • Roughly $30-60 in most cases

Electronics Removal & Recycling

Let CozyTech haul away your unwanted technology and handle the recycling responsibly.

Computers, televisions, and other electronics contain materials that should not be thrown out with your ordinary waste. It can be recycled responsibly, but many folks don't know how or where to do it. We'll take the guess-work out and make it easy!

​

Includes:

  • Most home electronics (computers, flat panel televisions, audio hardware, smart home assistants, etc.)

  • Electronics up to 50 pounds a piece

​

Excludes:

  • CRT ("tube") style televisions over 20" diagonally

    • (these tend to get too heavy to handle)

  • Items over 50lb

​

Available add-on:

  • Data destruction

    • Wipe the data on computers and hard disks

    • $20 per item

For inboxes that support filtering, such as Gmail, CozyTech can set up automated filters to keep your inbox clean and usable.

Data Backup / Migration

CozyTech can back up or replace most computer storage drives. Because of unpredictable file transfer sizes and speeds, we offer this service at a fixed price.​

For a low cost we can include a USB flash drive to store the data, or you can provide a disk or online account yourself.

Broken Device Data Recovery

$40- 120 + parts

Hard drives can become corrupted computers may break, but it may be possible to recover files from them. Best efforts will be made to recover files, although we cannot guarantee everything will recover successfully.

A $40 upfront fee covers the time and cost of the attempt, and an additional $80 will be charged if some or all of the data can be recovered. If no data can be recovered, there is no $80 charge.

​

​For a low cost we can include a USB flash drive to store the data, or you can provide a disk or online account yourself.

Digital Keepsakes

10¢ per photo

$10 + parts per tape

CozyTech can digitize your precious photos and home video tapes, offering you posterity and peace of mind.

​

Once digitized, you may copy or share your digital photos and videos infinitely. You can re-print high-quality copies with local photo vendors, and watch your digital videos on modern smart TVs.
